Class 1 - Mrs A. Chapman

5 - Class 1(2)

Life is always busy in our class and even though we are only 5 and 6 years old expectations are high. After a year in Reception we have moved from the Foundation Stage to following the National Curriculum. Our teacher is always reminding us that we work just as hard as the big children.

Helping us to achieve our very best is our class teacher Mrs Chapman and Ms Gadd, our teaching assistant.

We had a very hectic Autumn Term. In Science we learnt about the seasons, focusing on Autumn. We produced some lovely acrostic poems and made leaf hedgehogs. We worked alongside the other infant classes to perform a Harvest Festival show. We sang lots of songs and shared information about animals at Autumn Time.

The build up to Christmas saw us preparing the school with decorations and rehearsing for our Nativity performance. We had a special trip to London Zoo with Class 2. Not only did we meet the animals but also experienced the Living Nativity and got to see Father Christmas. Our highlight was getting up close to the tiger cubs and seeing the lions.

We have now settled in to the New Year and are focusing on working hard to develop our reading, writing and maths skills.
